Hans Wegner designed the Wishbone chair in 1949, taking his inspiration from antique Chinese armchairs. Yet despite its lengthy history it possesses a timeless, even contemporary appeal thanks to Wegner’s signature design ideals of organic functionality and craftsmanship. The iconic wishbone silhouette and the curvilinear line of the backrest with its beautiful wood marking are testament to Wegner’s ability to create pieces of sculptural beauty and outstanding comfort and stability.

The wishbone “Y” provides comfortable back support together with the gently rounded top where your elbows are nicely supported. The wide, hand-woven paper cord seat has a curved edge to reduce pressure on the backs of the thighs. Comfortable, elegant and stylish, it is the perfect chair for modern living - an ideal dining chair for lounging over long dinners and a perfect desk or occassional chair.
