This simple classic is as fresh today as it was when it was designed in 1929 by Irish Designer Eileen Gray. The story behind the name of this table ( E1027) is interesting: having studied art, Gray switched to architecture mid-career and designed her home in Roquebrune, France, with her partner Jan Badovici. They named the house E1027 ( E, standing for the first letter of her christian name and the numbers 10, 2, and 7 standing for the alphabetical order of the initials of Jan Badovici ).  She also designed the furniture for the house including the iconic bedside table ( 1929 ) which was also named E1027. In 1972 she was appointed by the Royal Society of Art as Royal Designer to Industry. In 1978 the table was picked to form part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Our version of this iconic design is made of tubular polished steel with a 5mm glass top. It is height adjustable making it very versatile for living room or bedroom.

Our products are reproduced to the style of the original design.
