Arne Jacobsen (1902 - 1971), one of Denmark's most famous sons, trained at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen and became one of the leading modernist designers and architects of the 20th century. He designed the AJ Floor Lamp in 1960 for the SAS Royal Hotel, Copenhagen as a companion to his Series 3300 furniture, which included the iconic Egg Chair and Swan Chair. One can see how his lamp compliments the sculptural curves of both chairs with it's sloped base and cut-out circle on the base (originally intended to hold an ashtray). He designed the cylindrical shade to be tilted in order to focus light where needed.

The Arne Jacobsen Style Table lamp has a fixture head with a distinct asymmetrical shape. The fixture head can be tilted. Our version of this modern classic is made of powder-coated zinc and is available in black and white.

Our products are reproduced to the style of the original design.
